Seppo Takalo	0d6f760c16	Add minimal debug info to release and develop profiles. This allows minimal debugging and allows tools like mbed-os-linker-report to work properly. Tony Wu	a4575a965f	rtl8195am - refactor bootloader and ota support 1. move ota region 1 from 0x00b000 to 0x040000 2. move ota region 2 from 0x0c0000 to 0x120000 3. refactor bootloader header as follows: uint32_t tag; uint32_t ver; uint64_t timestamp; uint32_t size; uint8_t hash[32]; uint8_t campaign[16]; uint32_t crc32; where, a. hash is the sha256 checksum of the payload. b. crc32 is the crc32 checksum of headers from tag to campaign. 4. Christopher Haster	47684d89a5	Added test config for simulated block devices Not all devices have enough heap to fit a simulated heap block device, however using a simulated heap block device is preferred if available (reduced flash wear, faster testing). adbridge	bb579dcfaf	Improve domain handling and status checking of updated examples. All the examples cloned from Mercurial should use the new os.mbed.com domain. Thus update corrects that. adbridge	d2d2b68fc5	Fix the prepare_branch function Currently when checking if the destination branch already exists the command 'git branch' is used. This only returns local branches. Vincent Coubard	682816d86e	Sleep: Disallow sleep for targets turning of the systick clock at sleep entry. When the RTOS is present and the tickless mode is not implemented, it is expected that the next tick issued by the Systick timer will wake up the MCU. However nothing prevents an implementation of the ARM architecture to gate the systick clock signal upon sleep entry. Therefore on those targets sleep shall be prohibited if the RTOS is present and the tickless mode is not implemented. To ease life of porters , a new option has been added in the device add list: STCLK_OF_DURING_SLEEP. This option expose that the target turn of the systick clock during sleep. Jimmy Brisson	98b4768434	Initial toolchain class for ARMC6 While ARMC6 does use the same linker (armlink) as ARM Compiler 5, it is not compatible. The reason for this incompatibility are twofold: * armlink may invoke the C preprocessor by adding a shebang (`#!`) to the top of their input files. * ARMC6 and ARMC5 differ in how you invoke the preprocessor: * ARMC5: `#! armcc -E` * ARMC6: `#! armclang -E` This forces the tools to rewrite the shebang if it's wrong. Russ Butler	ac22225ad9	Move Cortex specific RTX behind TARGET_CORTEX Update directory structure to include RTX for only cortex targets, and for all cortex targets. This patch accomplishes this by moving mbed-os specific RTX files and RTX itself into rtos/TARGET_CORTEX along with removing TARGET_CORTEX_M from the RTX5 directory. The old directory structure: rtos/rtx5/<mbed-os specific RTX files> rtos/rtx5/TARGET_CORTEX_M/* rtos/rtx4/* rtos/<mbed-os specific RTX files> Is re-arranged to: rtos/TARGET_CORTEX/rtx5/* rtos/TARGET_CORTEX/rtx4/* rtos/TARGET_CORTEX/<mbed-os specific rtx files> This both encapsulates RTX code more cleanly and makes it easier to experiment with non-cortex cmsis-os2 backends, such as a posix based cmsis-os2 backend. Note - A potentially better name for the CORTEX_M directory would be something like FEATURE_RTX5 since this directory only contains RTX5 related files. This cannot be done because there is not an easy way to turn this feature on, since it cannot be done from mbed_lib.json.	2017-08-31 19:55:54 -05:00

Jimmy Brisson	74998d649a	Change target hooks to use correct input format The input format is now determined by the OUTPUT_EXT key in targets.json, and defaults to "bin" when not specified. This changes the Teensy3_1 and the NRF51x targets' post bulid hooks. Teensy3_1 just converted to intelhex, so we do nothing instead. NRF51x assumed that it was taking in a bin format file. The old behavior would cause lots of tracebacks, or, much worse, convert things like: ``` { "target_overrides": { "*": { "target.macros_add": "CONFIG_GPIO_AS_PINRESET" } } } ``` into a definition of each of the letters as macros that expand to nothing, causing massive compilation problems. Jimmy Brisson	4219d9cfc6	Don't set the build_dir to anything on export When constructing a toolchain for export, we currently set the `build_dir` to the `export_dir`. When exporting offline, the `export_dir` is always set to the root of the project. The toolchains ignore their `build_dir` when scanning for sorces, so when the exporters use the toolchains to scan for their resources, they get nothing. In this patch we set the `build_dir` of the toolchain that the exports use to nothing. Jimmy Brisson	a937ee00f2	Fix toolchain path names in Mbed 2 builds I accidentally broke only uARM mbed 2 builds. Here is the story: When scanning for resources, toolchains look for any `TOOLCHAIN_<classname>` folders to include. These `<classname>`s mostly match the name passed in on the command line with one exception: `uARM` on the command line maps to `ARM_MICRO` the class. This would not be a problem except for the bug that I introduced in a prior commit. The bug is that the mbed2 library builds will use the name passed in on the command line to construct `TOOLCHAIN_<cli-name>`. This will not match when scanning. Jimmy Brisson	fbb6f71be8	Ignore build directory from scan resources This is a bug fix for the following bug (Github issue #437): If two builds were run specifying a non-default build folder, the second build would fail to link with duplicate symbols and may not fit on the device. The root of this problem is that these non-default build folders are not ignored by scan-resources, and therefore included in the build. Jimmy Brisson	a5745cadd9	Use PATH env variable when gcc found in PATH Resolves the github issue #3790: Blinky fails to build (on Mac) after addition of linker script preprocessing feature. Paraphrasing, this issue is that Homebrew on mac does not install `arm-none-eabi-gcc` in the same location as `arm-none-eabi-cpp`, the C Pre-Processor. The tools prior to this commit, and after turning on the pre-processing of the linker-script will fail on any Mac homebrew installed toolchains. This commit resolves the above issue by allowing the toolchain's path to the executable to remain empty after a call to `check_executable`. When this path is empty, the tools will search the PATH environment variable for the executable.	2017-03-06 15:24:58 -06:00

These scripts are not really exportable, as they are part of the tools and may include and use any bits of python code they please. So we don't export them. These parameters are a bin or hex file, and an integer, in bytes, respectively. If either override is present, then an application region is created after the boot-loader region, when "targets.bootloader_exec" is present, and before post-application, when "targets.restric_size" is present. Jimmy Brisson	467bac1997	Remove duplicate files in zipped exports The zipping function of the exporters would unconditionally add all files scanned by scan resources to a zip, including all of the files associated with each feature. This would conflict with `build_api.scan_resources` adding all of the files to the resources object that correspond to the enabled features. This only affected GCC based makefiles, as the `$(LD)` make variable would only contain the linker for both ARMC5 and IAR. This was done under the assumption that the top-level compile scripts were properly checking that the toolchain executable was availble. The build.py script was doing this in the wrong place. Brian Daniels	19d56fd40f	Removing default toolchain paths This change was spurred by a confusing error. I attempted to compile for the RZ_A1H (a Cortex-A device), and I had the standalone ARM compiler in my system path, which supports Cortex-A. However, the default path for the ARM compiler in settings.py uses a Keil installation, which only supports Cortex-M. It found my Keil installation and used that instead. This change proposes to remove this default behavior and instead requires the user to explicitly set the intended compiler, either by a settings file, mbed CLI, environment variables, or by placing the compiler in your PATH.	2016-12-20 11:14:24 -06:00

Brian Daniels	57e693de86	Passing toolchain path info to subprocesses. Since the toolchain path info lives as a global variable, its not propigating to the subprocesses that are created to compile the tests in parallel.
