ARZ Z-Wave Roller Shutter

This describes the Z-Wave device ARZ Z-Wave, manufactured by Fakro with the thing type UID of fakro_arz2013_02_001. This version of the device is limited to firmware versions 2.1 to 3.255

The device is in the category of Blinds, defining Roller shutters, window blinds, etc..

The ARZ Z-Wave supports routing. This allows the device to communicate using other routing enabled devices as intermediate routers. This device is also able to participate in the routing of data between other devices in the mesh network.

Overview

This represents the 2013 revision of the ARZ Z-Wave roller shutter, intended for mounting onto FAKRO roof windows.

Note: the same ARZ roller shutter also exists in a Solar version and in non-Z-Wave versions (12VDC, 230VAC).

The ARZ roller shutter features 2 buttons:

  1. Programming button (P) - used for configuring the Z-Wave network
  2. Manual operation button (↕️) - used for manually operating the ARZ roller shutters

The ARZ roller shutter features 2 status LEDs:

  1. Network status LED (next to Programming button)
  2. Motor operation status (next to Manual operation button)

The ARZ Z-Wave roller shutters feature three limit switches:

  1. limit switch at unfolded shutter's armour position (outskirt)
  2. limit switch at folded shutter's armour position (outskirt)
  3. current limiting protecting the roller shutter against damage and the user against accidental injury as a result of contact with movable elements of the roller shutter.

Inclusion Information

Put the controller in inclusion mode, then press the P button on the ARZ roller shutters until the network status LED turns off.

Exclusion Information

Put the controller in exclusion mode, then press the P button on the ARZ roller shutters until the network status LED turns on.

General Usage Information

**Manual operation of the ARZ roller shutters: **The “manual operating button” al lows operating the ARZ Z-Wave roller shutter directly after connecting it to the power supply. In order to control the roller shutter manually it is necessary to press twice the manual operation button (↕️) within 1.5 seconds. The buttons work sequentially: start → stop → start in the reverse direction → stop → etc.

The ARZ roller shutters support the following Z-Wave functions:

  1. Adding the ARZ roller shutter to the Z-Wave network (INCLUDE)
  2. Assigning the ARZ roller shutter to buttons of a remote control (ASSOCIATE)
  3. Configuring response to ALL ON / ALL OFF

Switch

Switch the power on and off.

The switch_binary channel is of type switch_binary and supports the Switch item and is in the Switch category.

Dimmer

   

Provides start / stop control of blinds.

The blinds_control channel is of type blinds_control and supports the Rollershutter item and is in the Blinds category.

Device Configuration

The device has no configuration parameters defined.

Association Groups

Association groups allow the device to send unsolicited reports to the controller, or other devices in the network. Using association groups can allow you to eliminate polling, providing instant feedback of a device state change without unnecessary network traffic.

The device does not support associations.
