RF9542 Dimmer Accessory Switch
This describes the Z-Wave device RF9542, manufactured by Cooper Wiring Devices with the thing type UID of cooper_rf9542_00_000
.
The device is in the category of Wall Switch, defining Any device attached to the wall that controls a binary status of something, for ex. a light switch.
The RF9542 supports routing. This allows the device to communicate using other routing enabled devices as intermediate routers. This device is also able to participate in the routing of data between other devices in the mesh network.
Overview
Aspire RF smart dimmer system accessory, compatible with Aspire RF master dimmer (RF9540-N, RF9534, RF9536, RF9536-N, RF9537-N) for wireless 3-way control, eliminating the need for traditional 3-way wiring or dedicated traveller wires.

The scene_number
channel supports the Number
item.
Dimmer Ramp Time
Generic class for configuration parameter.
The config_decimal
channel supports the Number
item.
Alarm
Indicates if an alarm is triggered.
The alarm_general
channel supports the Switch
item and is in the Door
category. This is a read only channel so will only be updated following state changes from the device.
The following state translation is provided for this channel to the Switch
item type -:
Value | Label |
---|---|

channel supports the Dimmer
item.
Device Configuration
The following table provides a summary of the 7 configuration parameters available in the RF9542. Detailed information on each parameter can be found in the sections below.
Param | Name | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | Delayed OFF time | delay time in seconds |
2 | Panic ON time | time in seconds for panic mode |
3 | Panic OFF time | off time in seconds for panic mode |
4 | Basic Set Value | send this value to associated devices |

delay time in seconds The amount of time in seconds the switch will delay when trigger the delayed off feature Values in the range 0 to 255 may be set.
The manufacturer defined default value is 0
.
This parameter has the configuration ID config_1_1
and is of type INTEGER
.
Parameter 2: Panic ON time
time in seconds for panic mode The amount of time in seconds the switch will turn on for when panic mode is triggered Values in the range 0 to 255 may be set.

The manufacturer defined default value is 0
.
This parameter has the configuration ID config_3_1
and is of type INTEGER
.
Parameter 4: Basic Set Value
send this value to associated devices Setting this to anything other than 0 will cause the value to be transmitted to devices in the association group when the switch is triggered. A setting other than 0 will likely result in undesired operation Values in the range 0 to 255 may be set.
The manufacturer defined default value is 0
.
This parameter has the configuration ID config_4_1
and is of type INTEGER
.
Parameter 5: Power Up State
Power Up State of the switch
