--- layout: documentation title: MH-S220 - ZWave --- {% include base.html %} # MH-S220 Micro Switch This describes the Z-Wave device *MH-S220*, manufactured by *[McoHome Technology Co., Ltd](http://www.mcohome.com/)* with the thing type UID of ```mcohome_mhs220v32_03_002```. This version of the device is limited to firmware versions above 3.2 The device is in the category of *Wall Switch*, defining Any device attached to the wall that controls a binary status of something, for ex. a light switch. ![MH-S220 product image](https://opensmarthouse.org/zwavedatabase/1368/image/) The MH-S220 supports routing. This allows the device to communicate using other routing enabled devices as intermediate routers. This device is also able to participate in the routing of data between other devices in the mesh network. ## Overview MCOHome Micro Switch MH-S220-EU is a Z-Wave enabled module that can be set in existing in-wall switches. It supports basic command class, and also can act as a repeater in Z-Wave network. This product can be included and operated in any Z-Wave network with other Z-Wave certified devices from any other manufacturers. Power supply: 220V 50Hz Max output: 10A (Zero-crossing switch) Dimension:44 \*38 \*17mm (L \*W \*H) Load Type: Incandescent ### Inclusion Information INCLUDING the Micro Switch into your network: Set the controller into INCLUSION mode. Follow the instructions provided by the controller manufacturer. Press the ON/OFF/PROGRAM button on the Micro Switch. Note: If the inclusion is successful, the Micro Switch INDICATION LED will be solid on or off depending on switch’s state. If not, INDICATION LED will blink slowly. ### Exclusion Information EXCLUDING the Micro Switch from your network: Set the controller into EXCLUSION mode. Follow the instructions provided by the controller manufacturer. Press the ON/OFF/PROGRAM button on the Micro Switch. Note: If the exclusion is successful, the Micro Switch INDICATION LED will blink slowly. The ```switch_binary``` channel is of type ```switch_binary``` and supports the ```Switch``` item and is in the ```Switch``` category. ### Dimmer The brightness channel allows to control the brightness of a light. It is also possible to switch the light on and off. The ```switch_dimmer``` channel is of type ```switch_dimmer``` and supports the ```Dimmer``` item and is in the ```DimmableLight``` category. ### Scene Number Triggers when a scene button is pressed. The ```scene_number``` channel is of type ```scene_number``` and supports the ```Number``` item. This channel provides the scene, and the event as a decimal value in the form ```.```. This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_1_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 2: External switch type External switch type 0x00 Button (Momentary buttons ) 0x01 Toggle (2-state switches ) The following option values may be configured, in addition to values in the range 0 to 1 -: | Value | Description | |--------|-------------| | 0 | Momentary | | 1 | Toggle | The manufacturer defined default value is ```0``` (Momentary). This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_2_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 3: 2-state switches 2-state switches 0x00 for the toggle switch without specified on/off position 0x01 for the toggle switch with specified on/off position The following option values may be configured, in addition to values in the range 0 to 1 -: | Value | Description | |--------|-------------| | 0 | without specified on/off position | | 1 | with specified on/off position | The manufacturer defined default value is ```1``` (with specified on/off position). This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_4_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 5: Timing function Timing function 0x00 function disabled 0x0001-0xFFFF 1s-65535s Values in the range 0 to 65535 may be set. The manufacturer defined default value is ```0```. This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_5_2``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 6: ALL ON/ALL OFF ALL ON/ALL OFF 0x00 forbid ALL ON, forbid ALL OFF 0x01 forbid ALL ON, allow ALL OFF 0x02 allow ALL ON, forbid ALL OFF 0xFF(255) allow ALL ON, allow ALL OFF Values in the range 0 to 255 may be set. The manufacturer defined default value is ```255```. This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_6_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 8: Operation report from Switchl to Association Group2 Operation report from Switchl to Association Group2 0x00 report ON/OFF state of Si to AG2 0x01 only report ON state of S1 to AG2 0x02 only report OFF state of S1 to AG2 OxFF no report to AG 2 Values in the range 0 to 255 may be set. The manufacturer defined default value is ```0```. This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_8_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 9: Switch 2 function Switch 2 function 0x01 enable Scene Activation & send Basic ON/OFF to associated devices 0x02 Scene Activation only 0x03 send Basic ON/OFF only 0xFF(255) disable S2 Function Values in the range 1 to 255 may be set. The manufacturer defined default value is ```1```. This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_9_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 10: Operation report from Switch2 to Association Group3 Operation report from Switch2 to Association Group3 0x00 send Basic ON or Basic OFF to AG3 when turn on/off S2 Ox01 only send Basic ON when turn on S2 0x02 only send Basic OFF when turn off S2 0xFF(255) no report to AG 3 Values in the range 0 to 255 may be set. The manufacturer defined default value is ```1```. This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_10_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 11: Scene ID sent to AG1 when one click of S2 Scene ID sent to AG1 when one click of S2 0 Scene Activation disabled 1-255 send Activation CC to AG1 with specified Scene ID Values in the range 0 to 255 may be set. The manufacturer defined default value is ```0```. This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_11_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 12: Scene ID sent to AG1 when double click of S2 Scene ID sent to AG1 when double click of S2 0 Scene Activation disabled 1-255 send Activation CC to AG1 with specified Scene ID Values in the range 0 to 255 may be set. The manufacturer defined default value is ```0```. This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_12_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 13: Scene ID sent to AG1 when hold of S2 Scene ID sent to AG1 when hole of S2 0 Scene Activation disabled 1-255 send Activation CC to AG1 with specified Scene ID Values in the range 0 to 255 may be set. The manufacturer defined default value is ```0```. This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_13_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 255: Factory setting Factory setting Set parameter ID 0x55 will restore Factory Settings. Values in the range 0 to 55 may be set. The manufacturer defined default value is ```0```. This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_255_1_wo``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. This is a write only parameter. ### Switch All Mode Set the mode for the switch when receiving SWITCH ALL commands. The following option values may be configured -: | Value | Description | |--------|-------------| | 0 | Exclude from All On and All Off groups | | 1 | Include in All On group | | 2 | Include in All Off group | | 255 | Include in All On and All Off groups | This parameter has the configuration ID ```switchall_mode``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ## Association Groups Association groups allow the device to send unsolicited reports to the controller, or other devices in the network. Using association groups can allow you to eliminate polling, providing instant feedback of a device state change without unnecessary network traffic. The MH-S220 supports 3 association groups. ### Group 1: Lifeline The Lifeline association group reports device status to a hub and is not designed to control other devices directly. When using the Lineline group with a hub, in most cases, only the lifeline group will need to be configured and normally the hub will perform this automatically during the device initialisation.
