--- layout: documentation title: FGRM222 - ZWave --- {% include base.html %} # FGRM222 Roller Shutter This describes the Z-Wave device *FGRM222*, manufactured by *[Fibargroup](http://www.fibaro.com/)* with the thing type UID of ```fibaro_fgrm222_00_000```. This version of the device is limited to firmware versions below 22.22 The device is in the category of *Blinds*, defining Roller shutters, window blinds, etc.. ![FGRM222 product image](https://opensmarthouse.org/zwavedatabase/116/image/) The FGRM222 supports routing. This allows the device to communicate using other routing enabled devices as intermediate routers. This device is also able to participate in the routing of data between other devices in the mesh network. ## Overview Fibaro Roller Shutter is a universal, Z-Wave compatible, electric motor controller. The device allows for controlling motors of roller blinds, awnings, venetian blinds, gates and others, which are single phase AC powered. Fibaro Roller Shutter allows for precise positioning of a roller blind or  venetian blind lamellas. Precise positioning is available for the motors equipped with mechanic and electronic end switches. The module may be controlled wirelessly, through the Z-Wave network main controller, or through the switch keys connected to it. It’s also possible to combine few devices into groups of devices, which then can be controlled simultaneously. In addition, Fibaro Roller Shutter is equipped with Power Metering. **ROLLER SHUTTER RESET** Reset procedure clears the modules’ EPROM memory, including all information about the Z-Wave network controller, calibration and power consumption data. 1. Make sure the module is connected to the power supply. 2. Press and hold the B-button for ca. 14 seconds. 3. LED indicator will glow yellow. 4. Release the B-button and press it again, briefly. 5. The Roller Shutter memory is now empty. 6. The module goes into the auto inclusion mode, until any button is pushed. ### Inclusion Information Fibaro Roller Shutter may be included into the Z-Wave network via the B-button or a push button connected to the S1 terminal. In addition, the module may be included in auto inclusion mode, by simply connecting the power supply. **Automatic Z-Wave network inclusion:** 1. Make sure the power supply is disconnected and a Roller Shutter is located within a direct Z-Wave network’s main controller communication range. 2. Set the main controller into the learn mode (see main controllers operating manual). 3. Connect the power supply to include the Roller Shutter in auto inclusion mode. 4. Fibaro Roller Shutter will be automatically detected and included into the Z-Wave network. To disable the auto inclusion mode, press the B-button briefly, after connecting the module to the power supply. **Manual Z-Wave network inclusion:** 1. Connect the power supply. 2. Set the main controller into the learn mode (see main controllers operating manual). 3. Triple click the B-button or a push button connected to the S1 terminal. 4. Fibaro Roller Shutter will be detected and included into the Z-Wave network ### Exclusion Information Excluding Fibaro Roller Shutter from the Z-Wave network: 1. Make sure the module is connected to the power supply. 2. Set the main controller into the learn mode (see main controllers operating manual). 3. The ```switch_binary``` channel is of type ```switch_binary``` and supports the ```Switch``` item and is in the ```Switch``` category. ### Blinds control Provides start / stop control of blinds. The ```blinds_control``` channel is of type ```blinds_control``` and supports the ```Rollershutter``` item and is in the ```Blinds``` category. ### Scene Number Triggers when a scene button is pressed. The ```scene_number``` channel is of type ```scene_number``` and supports the ```Number``` item. ### Sensor (power) Indicates the energy consumption (kWh). The ```sensor_power``` channel is of type ```sensor_power``` and supports the ```Number``` item and is in the ```Energy``` category. This is a read only channel so will only be updated following state changes from the device. ### Meter (watts) Indicates the instantaneous power consumption. The ```meter_watts``` channel is of type ```meter_watts``` and supports the ```Number``` item and is in the ```Energy``` category. This is a read only channel so will only be updated following state changes from the device. ### Meter (kWh) Indicates the energy consumption (kWh). The ```meter_kwh``` channel is of type ```meter_kwh``` and supports the ```Number``` item and is in the ```Energy``` category. This is a read only channel so will only be updated following state changes from the device. ### Lamella position Sets the blinds lamella position. The ```blinds_lamella``` channel is of type ```blinds_lamella``` and supports the ```Dimmer``` item and is in the ```Blinds``` category. ### Shutter position [Deprecated] Sets the blinds shutter position. The ```blinds_shutter``` channel is of type ```blinds_shutter``` and supports the ```Dimmer``` item and is in the ```Blinds``` category. **Note:** This channel is marked as deprecated so should not be used. ## Device Configuration The following table provides a summary of the 21 configuration parameters available in the FGRM222. Value of 0 means the reports are turned off. | | 43 | Energy reports | Energy level change resulting in new energy value report | | 44 | Self-measurement | Enables/disables power and energy report used by itself | | 50 | Scenes/Associations activation | Determine whether scenes or associations are activated | ### Parameter 1: Local protection Enables/disables local protection Enables/disables local entry. If activated module stops responding to S1 and S2 push buttons, SCENE ID and association commands will not be sent. Only exception is the B-button. The following option values may be configured -: | Value | Description | |--------|-------------| | 0 | No protection. | | 2 | Local protection active | The manufacturer defined default value is ```255```. This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_1_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 2: Radio protection Enables/disables RF protection Enables/disables RF protection. If activated device stops responding to command frames. Configuration and polling still possible. The following option values may be configured -: | Value | Description | |--------|-------------| | 0 | No protection. | | 1 | RF Protection active. | The manufacturer defined default value is ```0``` (No protection.). This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_2_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 3: Reports type Enable Venetian Blind mode Parameters value shoud be set to 1 if the module operates in Venetian Blind mode. The following option values may be configured -: | Value | Description | |--------|-------------| | 0 | Blind position reports sent using Z-Wave Commands | | 1 | Blind position reports sent using Fibaro Commands. | The manufacturer defined default value is ```0``` (Blind position reports sent using Z-Wave Commands). This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_3_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 10: Roller Shutter operating modes The following option values may be configured -: | Value | Description | |--------|-------------| | 0 | Roller Blind Mode, without positioning | | 1 | Roller Blind Mode, with positioning | | 2 | Venetian Blind Mode, with positioning | | 3 | Gate Mode, without positioning | | 4 | Gate Mode, with positioning | The manufacturer defined default value is ```1``` (Roller Blind Mode, with positioning). This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_10_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 12: Turning time/delay time Time of full turn of the lamellas. In Venetian Blind mode (parameter 10 set to 2) the parameter determines time of full turn of the lamellas. In Gate Mode (parameter 10 set to 3 or 4) the parameter defines the delay time after which an open gate starts closing. Values in the range 0 to 65535 may be set. The manufacturer defined default value is ```150```. This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_12_2``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 13: Lamellas positioning mode Lamellas positioning in venetian blind mode Parameter influences the lamellas positioning in venetian blind mode (parameter 10 set to 2) The following option values may be configured -: | Value | Description | |--------|-------------| | 0 | Only in case of the main controller operation | | 1 | Controller, switch or limit switch operation | | 2 | Controller, switch, limit sw operation/STOP frame | The manufacturer defined default value is ```1``` (Controller, switch or limit switch operation). This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_13_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 14: Switch type Parameter settings for Roller and Venetian Blind Mode Parameter settings are relevant for Roller Blind Mode and Venetian Blind Mode (parameter 10 set to 0, 1, 2). The following option values may be configured -: | Value | Description | |--------|-------------| | 0 | Momentary switches | | 1 | Toggle switches | | 2 | Single, momentary switch. | The manufacturer defined default value is ```0``` (Momentary switches). This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_14_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 17: Delay time after S2 Relays turn off time after reaching a limit switch. In roller blind mode or venetian blind mode (parameter 10 set to 0, 1, 2) the parameter determines when the Roller Shutter relays are turned off after reaching a limit switch. In Gate Mode (parameter 10 set to 3 or 4) the parameter determines a time period. Values in the range 0 to 255 may be set. The manufacturer defined default value is ```10```. This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_17_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 18: Motor operation detection Power threshold to be interpreted as reaching a limit switch. Values in the range 0 to 255 may be set. The manufacturer defined default value is ```10```. This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_18_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 22: Motor operation time Time period for the motor to continue operation. Values in the range 0 to 65535 may be set. The manufacturer defined default value is ```10```. This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_22_2``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 29: Forced Roller Shutter calibration Roller Shutter enters the calibration mode. Seting the parameter to 1 Roller Shutter enters the calibration mode. Parameter is only only relevant if a Roller Shutter is set to work in positioning mode (parameter 10 set to 1, 2 or 4). The following option values may be configured -: | Value | Description | |--------|-------------| | 0 | Deactivated | | 1 | Start calibration process | The manufacturer defined default value is ```0``` (Deactivated). This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_29_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 30: Response to General Alarm The following option values may be configured -: | Value | Description | |--------|-------------| | 0 | No response to alarm frames | | 1 | Open Blind | | 2 | Close Blind | The manufacturer defined default value is ```2``` (Close Blind). This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_30_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 31: Response to Water Flood Alarm The following option values may be configured -: | Value | Description | |--------|-------------| | 0 | No response to alarm frames | | 1 | Open Blind | | 2 | Close Blind | The manufacturer defined default value is ```0``` (No response to alarm frames). This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_31_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 32: Response to Smoke, CO, CO2 Alarm The following option values may be configured -: | Value | Description | |--------|-------------| | 0 | No response to alarm frames | | 1 | Open Blind | | 2 | Close Blind | The manufacturer defined default value is ```3```. This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_32_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 33: Response to Temperature Alarm The following option values may be configured -: | Value | Description | |--------|-------------| | 0 | No response to alarm frames | | 1 | Open Blind | | 2 | Close Blind | The manufacturer defined default value is ```1``` (Open Blind). This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_33_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 35: Managing lamellas in response to alarm Lamellas reaction upon alarm detection. In Venetian Blind Mode (parameter 10 set to 2), the parameter determines how the lamellas will react upon alarm detection. The following option values may be configured -: | Value | Description | |--------|-------------| | 0 | Do not change lamellas position | | 1 | Set lamellas to their extreme position | The manufacturer defined default value is ```1``` (Set lamellas to their extreme position). This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_35_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 40: Power reports Power level change resulting in new power value report Power level change that will result in new power value report being sent. Value is a percentage of the previous report. Values in the range 0 to 100 may be set. The manufacturer defined default value is ```10```. This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_40_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 42: Periodic power or energy reports Time to the next report. Value of 0 means the reports are turned off. Values in the range -32767 to 32767 may be set. The manufacturer defined default value is ```3600```. This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_42_2``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 43: Energy reports Energy level change resulting in new energy value report Energy level change which will result in new energy value report being sent. Value of 0 means the reports are turned off. Values in the range -126 to 127 may be set. The manufacturer defined default value is ```10```. This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_43_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 44: Self-measurement Enables/disables power and energy report used by itself Enables/disables to include the power and energy used by itself in reports to main controller. The following option values may be configured -: | Value | Description | |--------|-------------| | 0 | Disabled | | 1 | Activated | The manufacturer defined default value is ```0``` (Disabled). This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_44_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 50: Scenes/Associations activation Determine whether scenes or associations are activated Parameter determines whether scenes or associations are activated by the switch keys. The following option values may be configured -: | Value | Description | |--------|-------------| | 0 | Associations Active | | 1 | Scenes Active | The manufacturer defined default value is ```0``` (Associations Active). This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_50_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ## Association Groups Association groups allow the device to send unsolicited reports to the controller, or other devices in the network. Using association groups can allow you to eliminate polling, providing instant feedback of a device state change without unnecessary network traffic. The FGRM222 supports 3 association groups. ### Group 1: Momentary click **Roller Shutter or other Z-Wave devices** Clicking "up" button, connected to S1 terminal will initiate up movement in associated Roller Shutters, or send Turn On command frame to the devices associated in I-st association group. Clicking "down" button, connected to S2 terminal will initiate down movement in associated Roller Shutters, or send Turn Off command frame to the devices associated in I-st association group. **Venetian Blinds** Clicking "up" button, connected to S1 terminal will initiate up movement of the connected venetian blind and other devices associated in I-st association group. Clicking "down" button, connected to S2 terminal will initiate down movement of the connected venetian blind and other devices associated in I-st association group. Association group 1 supports 16 nodes. ### Group 2: Momentary hold Only applies to momentary switches **Roller Shutter or other Z-Wave devices** Holding "up" button, connected to S1 terminal will move the connected roller blind up, and after 1 second delay initiate up movement in associated Roller Shutters, or send Turn On command frame to the devices associated in II-nd association group. Holding "down" button, connected to S2 terminal will move the connected rolled blind down, and after 1 second delay initiate down movement in associated Roller Shutters, or send Turn Off command frame to the devices associated in II-nd association group. **Venetian Blinds** Holding "up" button, connected to S1 terminal will initiate lamellas rotation up, of the connected venetian blind as well as the other devices associated in II-nd association group. Holding "down" button, connected to S2 terminal will initiate lamellas rotation down, of the connected venetian blind as well as the other devices  associated in II-nd association group.
