Refer to the *Wakeup Information* section below for further information. ## Overview No Hub Necessary – The remote allows you to create one scene to control smart devices with or without a Z-Wave hub. It is able to directly pair with Z-Wave switches, dimmers, fan controls and more simple-setup home automation. Dual- and quad-scene models – 34174 and 34176 – are also available for even more varied automation. Scalable Automation – One-to-many or many-to-one configurations accommodate any need. Create a scene for up to 20 devices with one remote or use several remotes to control a single fixture. Universal compatibility allows the remote to pair with Z-Wave Plus and all previous Z-Wave generations. Ideal Applications – Trigger actions of several devices to enjoy the comfort of knowing all of your lights are turned off when you leave the house or illuminate your whole home as soon as you arrive. Connecting multiple remotes to one fixture, lamp or fan instantly creates a multi-switch network for control from various locations. Versatile Placement– Compact construction and two provided CR2032 batteries offer comfortable handheld operation for easy portability. The included unique magnetic adapter and rocker-style wallplate support wall-mount options. The remote can also be incorporated into existing switchboxes and multi-gang setups or replace blanks. Tabletop placement with an available cradle – model 39943 – allows convenient accessibility anywhere. Full-Range Dimmability – When connected to a Z-Wave dimmer, adjust brightness levels of dimmable lights from 0-100 percent. Dimming lights reduces energy costs and improves bulb life. ### Inclusion Information 1. Press and hold the Up and Down buttons for 5 seconds. The LED will slowly flash. 2. Press and hold the Up button 3 seconds. The LED will rapidly flash. 3. Press the Down button to set the device as a receiver. The LED will flash every second. If network transfer was successful, the LED will turn on for two seconds ### Exclusion Information 1. Press and hold the Up and Down buttons for 3 seconds. The LED will slowly flash. 2. Press and hold the Up and Down buttons for 3 seconds. The LED will quickly flash for 20 seconds. 3. Press the manual/program button on the Z-Wave module/switch to remove it from the network. The LED will turn on for two seconds. ### Wakeup Information The 34127/ZW5304 does not permanently listen for messages sent from the controller - it will periodically wake up automatically to check if the controller has messages to send, but will sleep most of the time to conserve battery life. The wakeup period can be configured in the user interface - it is advisable not to make this too short as it will impact battery life - a reasonable compromise is 1 hour. The wakeup period does not impact the devices ability to report events or sensor data. The device can be manually woken with a button press on the device as described below - note that triggering a device to send an event is not the same as a wakeup notification, and this will not allow the controller to communicate with the device. 1. Press and hold the Up and Down buttons for 3 seconds. The LED will slowly flash. 2. Press and hold the Down button for 2 seconds. The LED will quickly flash. 3. Press the Up button. The LED will turn on for two seconds. If the setup is successful, the keypad will stay awake for 30 seconds. It is also possible to switch the light on and off. The ```switch_dimmer``` channel is of type ```switch_dimmer``` and supports the ```Dimmer``` item and is in the ```DimmableLight``` category. ### Battery Level Represents the battery level as a percentage (0-100%). Bindings for things supporting battery level in a different format (e.g. 4 levels) should convert to a percentage to provide a consistent battery level reading. The ```system.battery-level``` channel is of type ```system.battery-level``` and supports the ```Number``` item and is in the ```Battery``` category. This channel provides the battery level as a percentage and also reflects the low battery warning state. If the battery state is in low battery warning state, this will read 0%. ## Device Configuration The device has no configuration parameters defined. ## Association Groups Association groups allow the device to send unsolicited reports to the controller, or other devices in the network. Using association groups can allow you to eliminate polling, providing instant feedback of a device state change without unnecessary network traffic. The 34127/ZW5304 supports 1 association group. ### Group 1: Lifeline The Lifeline association group reports device status to a hub and is not designed to control other devices directly. When using the Lineline group with a hub, in most cases, only the lifeline group will need to be configured and normally the hub will perform this automatically during the device initialisation.
