--- layout: documentation title: WT00Z-1 - ZWave --- {% include base.html %} # WT00Z-1 3-Way Wall Accessory Switch This describes the Z-Wave device *WT00Z-1*, manufactured by *Linear Corp* with the thing type UID of ```linear_wt00z1_00_000```. The device is in the category of *Wall Switch*, defining Any device attached to the wall that controls a binary status of something, for ex. a light switch. ![WT00Z-1 product image](https://www.cd-jackson.com/zwave_device_uploads/13/13_default.jpg) The WT00Z-1 supports routing. This allows the device to communicate using other routing enabled devices as intermediate routers. This device is also able to participate in the routing of data between other devices in the mesh network. ## Overview Radio Frequency (RF) Controlled, 120 VAC, Wall Mounted Transmitter ### Inclusion Information Tap either the top or bottom of the WT00Z-1 once. ### Exclusion Information You  must  first  “RESET  UNIT”  with  your  controller  to  remove  it  from the network. Although adding it to a group includes it in the network, removing  it  from  a  group  does  not  remove  it  from  the  network.  If removed from a group, it functions as a repeater (only). “RESET UNIT” removes it completely from the network. ## Channels The following table summarises the channels available for the WT00Z-1 -: | Channel | Channel Id | Category | Item Type | |---------|------------|----------|-----------| | Switch | switch_binary | Switch | Switch | | Dimmer | switch_dimmer | DimmableLight | Dimmer | ### Switch Switch the power on and off. The ```switch_binary``` channel supports the ```Switch``` item and is in the ```Switch``` category. ### Dimmer The brightness channel allows to control the brightness of a light. It is also possible to switch the light on and off. The ```switch_dimmer``` channel supports the ```Dimmer``` item and is in the ```DimmableLight``` category. ## Device Configuration The following table provides a summary of the 18 configuration parameters available in the WT00Z-1. A dimmer receivingthis command will start dimming from that start level. However, thecommand can be sent so that the dimmer ignores the start level andinstead starts dimming from its current level. By default, the WT00Z-1sends the command so that the dimmer will start dimming from itscurrent dim level rather than the start level embedded in the command. To change this, simply set the configuration parameter to 0. **• Parameter No: 1• ** **Length: 1 Byte• ** **Valid Values = 0 or 1 (default 1)** **NOTE:** Any ACT Z-Wave enabled dimmers have the configuration optionto ignore the start level no matter how you configure the WT00Z-1   The following option values may be configured -: | Value | Description | |--------|-------------| | 0 | Use Start Level | | 1 | Ignore Start Level | The manufacturer defined default value is ```1``` (Ignore Start Level). This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_1_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 2: Suspend Group 4 Suspend Group 4 You may wish to disable transmitting commands to Z-Wave devices that are in Group 4 without “un-associating” those devices from the group. Setting parameter 2 to the value of 1 will stop the WT00Z-1 from transmitting to devices that are “associated” into Group 4. **• Parameter No: 2•** ** Length: 1 ** **Byte• Valid Values = 0 or 1 (default 0** The following option values may be configured -: | Value | Description | |--------|-------------| | 0 | Enable Group 4 | | 1 | Disable Group 4 | The manufacturer defined default value is ```0``` (Enable Group 4). This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_2_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 3: Night Light Relationship between LED and status of devices in Group 1 The LED on the WT00Z-1 will by default, turn ON when the status of the devices in Group 1 is ON. To make the LED turn ON when the status of Group 1 is OFF set this parameter to a value of 1. **Parameter No: 3• ** **Length: 1 Byte• ** **Valid Values = 0 or 1 (default 0** The following option values may be configured -: | Value | Description | |--------|-------------| | 0 | On when load is on | | 1 | On when load is off | The manufacturer defined default value is ```0``` (On when load is on). This parameter has the configuration ID ```config_3_1``` and is of type ```INTEGER```. ### Parameter 4: Invert Switch Setting the relationship between the top of the transmitter to ON or OFF To change the top of the transmitter to OFF and the bottom of the transmitter to ON, set parameter 4 to 1. To change back to original settings, set this parameter to the value of 0. **Parameter No: 4** **Length: 1 Byte** **Valid Values = 0 or 1 (default 0)** The following option values may be configured -: | Value | Description | |--------|-------------| | 0 | Top-ON, Bottom-OFF | | 1 | Bottom-ON, Top-OFF | The manufacturer defined default value is ```0``` (Top-ON, Bottom-OFF ).
